About The Position

POSITION TITLE: Girls Soccer- Head Coach QUALIFICATIONS: Appropriate certification through the Arkansas Department of Education and Arkansas Activities Association/NFHS Coaches Education Program REPORTS TO: Building Level Principal and Athletic Director TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 220 days with benefits provided according to Siloam Springs School Board policies. ESSENTIAL TEACHING FUNCTIONS Participate in curriculum review and design. Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives. Diagnose and evaluate student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner. Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required. Effectively implement district initiatives. Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers. ESSENTIAL COACHING FUNCTIONS: Display loyalty to the principal, athletic director and the Athletic Department. Supervise athletes and team assigned to him/ her. Help plan and supervise any special needs/events (awards night, parent meeting, community service, etc.). Make suggestions and recommendations that will help the program. Teach and model good sportsmanship towards opponents, officials and parents. Support and collaborate with staff in other athletic and academic programs to encourage students to participate in a variety of activities. Follow rules and regulations in the Siloam Springs Athletic Department, Coaches and AAA Handbooks. Monitor the academic performance of team members. Plan and conduct daily practices for assigned team. Attend pre-season organizational meetings as assigned by the athletic director. Organizing and running of invitational or AAA tournaments and regular season meets. Attend professional development activities and remain current to new coaching strategies. Attend all interscholastic contests for assigned team (if an emergency or situation arises that would necessitate the absence of a coach, the athletic director must be notified as soon as the situation is known). OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations. Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation. Serve on committees as assigned. Remain current on instructional practices in education and coaching. Other duties as assigned.
