Part Time Math & Science Teacher
About The Position
Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time Math & Science Teacher to provide one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. Teachers tailor instruction to each student's needs and learning style, using a gradual-release approach to help students build confidence and achieve mastery. The position offers a flexible schedule and pays $22–$25 per hour. The role does not involve lesson planning, parent conferences, or grading outside of instruction, allowing teachers to focus on supporting and inspiring students. Professional development opportunities are available. Relevant subject areas include math, chemistry, physics, engineering, and biology.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area, such as math, chemistry, physics, engineering, or biology.
- Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students with different learning needs.
- Genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject knowledge.
- Proficiency with G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, if applicable, and pass a federal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching certification; it is not required.
- Advanced degree in the relevant subject area.
- Previous one-to-one teaching experience.
