About The Position
Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time Math & Science Teacher to provide one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. Teachers tailor instruction to each student’s needs and learning style and use a gradual-release approach to help students achieve mastery, build confidence, and succeed academically. The role is described as offering a flexible schedule and does not require lesson planning, parent conferences, or grading. Professional development opportunities are available. Compensation is $22–$23 per hour.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area, such as math, chemistry, physics, engineering, or biology.
- Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students who learn in different ways.
- Genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject knowledge with students.
- Proficiency using G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, if applicable, and pass a federal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching certification; preferred but not required.
- Advanced degree in the relevant subject area.
- Previous one-to-one teaching experience.
