About The Position

Montrose School, an independent school for girls in grades 6-12, inspired by the teachings of the Catholic Church, seeks to appoint a temporary Math Learning Support tutor for fifteen (15) hours per week to join our established Academic Support team. This leave coverage position extends for eight (8) weeks, starting at the beginning of September, 2026. The successful candidate will be an experienced math tutor or teacher of math with strong knowledge of middle and upper school math subjects through PreCalculus, with experience with Statistics being a plus. The candidate will bring a passion and enthusiasm for helping adolescent girls achieve a high level of proficiency in math, eagerness for working one-on-one or with small groups of students, and the ability to work collegially and cooperatively with current math faculty to fortify student skill and understanding. Some supervisory duties may also be required. Sensitivity to the anxiety and confidence needs of struggling math students is essential.

Requirements

Experienced math tutor or teacher of math.
Strong knowledge of middle and upper school math subjects through PreCalculus.
Passion and enthusiasm for helping adolescent girls achieve a high level of proficiency in math.
Eagerness for working one-on-one or with small groups of students.
Ability to work collegially and cooperatively with current math faculty.
Sensitivity to the anxiety and confidence needs of struggling math students.
Bachelor's degree.
Significant coursework in a relevant subject.
Appreciation for all-girls' education.
Some teaching/tutoring experience.
