About The Position

Achievers Early College Prep Charter School (AECP) is seeking a dedicated Math Intervention Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role is crucial in supporting middle school students who have substantial academic deficiencies in mathematics. The teacher will work collaboratively with a team to continuously improve curriculum and instruction, utilizing data-driven decision-making to enhance student achievement. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of math fundamentals, the ability to break down complex concepts, and experience with intervention strategies for underserved populations. Requirements

• Strong understanding of Math fundamentals & concepts
• Ability to breakdown concepts and explain clearly in small groups
• Familiarity with WIDA Model Online Testing and Access for ELLs
• Experience/comfort with online applications to enhance learning
• Receptive to weekly coaching and committed to growing and strengthening practice
• Familiarity with Google Classroom and virtual meeting platforms
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
• Bachelor’s degree is required
• Teaching experience in an upper elementary, middle, or high school with an underserved population
• Adept interpersonal and communication skills to diverse audiences
• Valid NJ Teacher Certification completed or in progress

• Master’s degree is preferred

Responsibilities

• Design and implement curriculum and assessments that measure progress towards academic standards.
• Use data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices.
• Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior.
• Implement multiple techniques for increased student engagement and checking for understanding.
• Be accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards.
• Identify students with substantial academic deficiencies by evaluation of available test and observational data, by consultation with staff members, and by recommendations made by other personnel.
• Develop instructional goals and specific instructional objectives for each student selected for remedial teaching with I&RS team and classroom teacher.
• In cooperation with the building principal and classroom teacher, properly group students for remedial instruction after consideration of the learning style and level of academic functioning of each student.
• Follow other responsibilities determined by the Principal.
