About The Position

AoPS Academy is seeking a passionate Math Instructor to inspire young minds in an engaging, collaborative classroom setting. This part-time role involves teaching advanced students using company-created curriculum, actively involving them in learning, managing small classes, providing feedback on assessments, and building relationships with students and families to foster a love for learning and critical thinking in math.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Strong content knowledge in math.
  • Experience teaching or tutoring students.
  • Must be available to teach during weekday after-school hours (as early as 4pm) and/or on weekends.
  • Requires a minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class.
  • Must be located in Irvine, CA or the greater area and must be able to commute to our campus.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Unable to offer sponsorship, including STEM-OPT and H-1B.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related or educational field is strongly preferred.
  • Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach company-created curriculum and materials designed for advanced students in small classes.
  • Actively involve students in each class or student-led learning.
  • Expertly manage up to 16 students.
  • Provide feedback on tests.
  • Connect with students and families to make a lasting impact on their educational journey.
  • Encourage a love for learning and critical thinking in math.
