About The Position

This position involves providing classroom instruction for students, academic advising, assisting in graduate placement, attending graduation ceremonies, and aiding with student orientation/registration. The role also includes curriculum revision, new course and program development, updating instructional materials, staying current in the teaching field, and contributing to college committees to promote institutional objectives.

Requirements

  • A doctorate or master's degree with a major in math/statistics or a doctorate or master's degree with 18 graduate hours in math/statistics.
  • Must be able to utilize Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to utilize learning management systems (D2L, mml, ALEKS).
  • Must be able to utilize classroom technology.
  • Must be able to utilize graphing calculator.
  • Must be able to utilize math specific software.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience in Higher Education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality instruction and teach assigned courses.
  • Provide students with course documentation and demonstrate effective interaction skills.
  • Relate instruction and materials to course objectives and develop creative class activities.
  • Utilize various teaching techniques and organize instruction effectively.
  • Provide academic advising and assist with student recruitment.
  • Develop and implement successful retention activities.
  • Assist in graduate placement and student orientation/registration.
  • Provide appropriate safety instruction.
  • Manage classroom/lab and clinic activities in an orderly manner.
  • Hold 8 office hours per week.
  • Submit all required reports in a timely manner.
  • Prepare budget projections for equipment and supplies.
  • Practice good housekeeping and repair equipment as appropriate.
  • Design new programs, revise curricula, and develop new courses.
  • Develop and revise instructional materials for current courses.
  • Participate in advisory committees.
  • Work on college committees and perform public service for the college.
  • Supervise/chaperone student events.
  • Promote the purpose and institutional objectives of the college.
  • Build rapport with employers of graduates.
