About The Position

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville seeks up to a full-time faculty member at the level of Associate Professor or Professor for the position of Chief for the Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) division at our Jacksonville campus. This is a 1.0 FTE position reporting to the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Responsibilities include overseeing clinical care delivered by faculty within the division, promoting investigator-initiated scholarship, and engaging in training of resident physicians and medical students. Candidates should have sufficient academic experience to qualify for either the rank of Associate Professor or Professor of Medicine with history of training residents. Additional qualifications include a broad vision and excellent interpersonal skills. Candidates must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida medical license or foreign equivalent and have completed an approved fellowship and be board certified or eligible in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. This position offers a strong clinical focus in the ambulatory setting, serving patients in North Florida and South Georgia regions. Responsibilities

  • Overseeing clinical care delivered by faculty within the division.
  • Promoting investigator-initiated scholarship.
  • Engaging in training of resident physicians and medical students.
  • Provide high-quality, compassionate care in an outpatient setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to serve patients across north central Florida and southern Georgia.
  • Clinical duties may include coverage of labor and delivery activities, oversight of complex pregnancy care, perinatal consultations, perinatal ultrasound, and invasive and non-invasive fetal diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Educating and supervising medical students and resident physicians in clinical settings.
  • Participating in academic activities such as medical education scholarship and collaborative research.
  • General education responsibilities include the education and supervision of residents and MFM fellows in the fundamentals of maternal-fetal medicine, including surgical and ultrasound skills required to optimize pregnancy outcomes and provide diagnostic information to patients, as well as providing education for third-year medical students in the ObGyn clerkship and fourth-year students on the MFM elective.
  • MFM faculty participate in assigned hospital, medical school, and department committees.
  • Attend and support department activities (rounds, special lectures, postgraduate courses, etc.).
  • Participate in division conferences and fellowship activities.
