Materials Team Leader
About The Position
The Materials Team Leader coordinates and assigns responsibilities to material handlers and operates equipment such as tuggers and forklifts to support the storage, tagging, transfer, loading, and unloading of parts. The role monitors inventory in storage and work areas to ensure materials are available for production and that inventory transactions are accurate and consistent. The Team Leader also assists with root cause analysis and carries out corrective actions when issues are identified. In the Department Supervisor’s absence, the role acts on the supervisor’s behalf and may assume employees’ full duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assign job responsibilities for material handlers.
- Operate equipment such as tuggers and forklifts to assist with storage, tagging, transfer, loading, and unloading of parts.
- Monitor inventory levels in storage and work areas to ensure materials are available for production.
- Ensure inventory transactions in the assigned area are accurate and consistent.
- Assist in root cause analysis investigations and execute corrective actions when issues are found.
- Act on behalf of the Department Supervisor when they are absent and assume employees’ full roles as needed.
