Materials Team Leader
About The Position
The Materials Team Leader coordinates and assigns responsibilities for material handlers and supports materials operations. The role operates equipment such as tuggers and forklifts to store, tag, transfer, load, and unload parts; monitors inventory levels to ensure materials are available for production; and ensures inventory transactions are accurate and consistent. The position also assists with root cause analysis investigations and carries out corrective actions when issues are identified. In the Department Supervisor’s absence, the Materials Team Leader acts on the supervisor’s behalf and may assume the full role of employees as needed.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assign job responsibilities for material handlers.
- Operate equipment such as tuggers and forklifts to assist with storage, tagging, transfer, loading, and unloading of parts.
- Monitor inventory levels in storage and work areas to ensure material availability in production.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of inventory transactions in the assigned area.
- Assist in root cause analysis investigations and execute corrective actions when issues are found.
- Act on behalf of the Department Supervisor in their absence and assume the full role of employees in their absence, as needed.
