About The Position

The Materials Specialist works in Union Health’s Supply Chain Resources department, which supports clinical staff by ensuring access to medications and medical and non-medical supplies. The role stocks supplies in the Storeroom and PAR closets using the FIFO method, transports supplies and equipment safely, checks expiration dates, helps maintain clean supply areas, and assists with locating, moving, and cleaning equipment. The specialist also reports supply availability issues, conducts routine physical inventory, follows hospital policies and procedures, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Functional grasp of standard written and verbal English.
• Accomplished at basic business math.
• Basic computer and computer keyboard experience.
• Flexible work schedule to meet the demands of the department.

Responsibilities

• Stock supplies in the Storeroom and PAR closets using the FIFO method.
• Transport supplies and equipment according to safety protocols.
• Routinely check supply expiration dates.
• Help maintain the cleanliness of supplies, supply bins, the Storeroom, and PAR closets.
• Assist with finding, moving, and cleaning equipment as needed.
• Report supply availability issues to the shift lead or manager.
• Conduct physical inventory on a routine basis.
• Demonstrate knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
