The Materials Program Manager is the strategic driver for material strategy within a product line, helping ensure Apple products reach customers. The role makes decisions across supply planning and readiness, strategic allocation and constraint management, financial risk and liability projection, and executive communication. The position owns clear-to-build strategy and material visibility, resolves constraints with contract manufacturers and cross-functional Apple teams, and leads allocation decisions for constrained components. It also develops optimization models and designs supply chain and material networks to support product schedules, improve lead times, and strengthen resilience. The role orchestrates material readiness for new product introductions, mitigates risks through cross-functional influence and design decisions, and resolves NPI material issues through closure. It also owns material strategy for product transitions and end-of-life, minimizes excess and obsolete liability, and manages claims through financial closure. The manager translates complex material scenarios into concise executive communications that support business decisions.
