About The Position

The Materials & Processing Engineer III advises on Materials & Processes (M&P) requirements for spacecraft environments and selects and certifies custom and commercially available spaceflight hardware. The role assesses hardware properties including flammability, toxicity, vacuum outgassing, corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, and helps ensure project compliance through testing, documentation, and review. It requires knowledge of metallic and nonmetallic materials and their specifications, properties, and testing; preparation of technical reports; creation and review of M&P documentation; and participation in project milestone reviews. The engineer interfaces with internal and external customers at all levels and works collaboratively in a team and learning environment.
