The Materials Engineering Co-op in the Materials and Processing Department supports engineering activities for a specific parts/project through the manufacturing process, which may include assembly, electroplating processes, grinding, honing, bushing installation, and paint. Héroux-Devtek is an international leader in aviation and the world's 3rd largest producer of landing gear, serving civil and military aerospace markets from production facilities in North America, Europe, and the United Kingdom. The company's longevity, flexibility, and track record for the development and implementation of innovative production systems have distinguished it as a leader in the domain. With its most recent acquisitions, Heroux-Devtek is bolstering its status as one of the foremost landing gear, actuation and hydraulic system designers and manufacturers in the global aerospace industry. The Strongsville facility, with over 90 employees and 100,000 sq. ft., is a center of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear. As part of the Central Division, this role will contribute to critical machining operations for major commercial aircraft programs like the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs such as F-18, F-35, C-17, and C-130. The division has a strong focus on the latest technology in manufacturing processes, including machining automation and techniques, aiming to remain the best value producer of complex landing gear components.
