About The Position

This role promotes and fosters a safe and secure operating environment, ensuring effective communication with the Maintenance Operations Center and line stations for timely and accurate handling of materials and services requests. The manager is responsible for accurate coordination of resources to provide 24/7 coverage for AOG support, and manages the procurement of parts to ensure adequate inventory levels. This position is responsible for the development and adherence to procurement, materials planning, and AOG Materials processes, and manages processes to meet company goals in initiatives to manage inventory growth, reduce shipping costs, decrease parts transfers, and reduce materials spend for heavy check. The role provides materials planning, coordination, and support to the Maintenance Operations group to maximize planned maintenance visits and collaborates with Technical Stores to monitor and provide direction for unserviceable inventory. A key responsibility is the continuous analysis of inventory levels, reorder points, and providing recommendations for management of inventory, including allocation levels at Air Wisconsin warehouse locations. The manager ensures effective mentoring of direct reports, provides analysis support and review in coordination with Maintenance for materials budget and variance analysis, and is responsible for the creation and oversight of metrics supporting departmental goals. Attendance and adherence to company policies and procedures are essential responsibilities. The role participates in continuous process improvement and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related field or equivalent practical career experience.
  • Knowledgeable and qualified for all FAA, DOT and IATA regulations concerning material procurement and shipping (including DOT HAZMAT Dangerous Goods Handling Training).
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications including strong Excel skills.
  • General knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple time sensitive projects and work under pressure.
  • Ability to develop strong partnership with peers, internal customers and vendors.
  • Strong analytical and math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 -5 years’ experience in Materials Planning or inventory control.
  • 2 years of experience in Airline operations.
  • Knowledge of AS400
  • Valid A&P license
