About The Position

The Materials Planning & Procurement Manager is responsible for promoting and fostering a safe and secure operating environment, ensuring effective communication with the Maintenance Operations Center and line stations for timely and accurate handling of materials and services requests. This role ensures accurate coordination of resources for 24/7 AOG support and manages the procurement of parts to maintain adequate inventory levels. The manager is responsible for the development and adherence to procurement, materials planning, and AOG Materials processes, aiming to meet company goals in managing inventory growth, reducing shipping costs, decreasing parts transfers, and lowering materials spend for heavy checks. Additionally, this position provides materials planning, coordination, and support to the Maintenance Operations group to maximize planned maintenance visits, collaborates with Technical Stores on unserviceable inventory, and continuously analyzes inventory levels and reorder points, providing recommendations for inventory management and allocation across Air Wisconsin warehouse locations. The role also involves mentoring direct reports, providing analysis support for the materials budget, creating and overseeing departmental metrics, ensuring attendance, adhering to company policies, and participating in continuous process improvement.

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related field or equivalent practical career experience.
  • Knowledgeable and qualified for all FAA, DOT and IATA regulations concerning material procurement and shipping (including DOT HAZMAT Dangerous Goods Handling Training).
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications including strong Excel skills.
  • General knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple time sensitive projects and work under pressure.
  • Ability to develop strong partnership with peers, internal customers and vendors.
  • Strong analytical and math skills

Nice To Haves

  • 3 -5 years’ experience in Materials Planning or inventory control.
  • 2 years of experience in Airline operations.
  • Knowledge of AS400

  • Valid A&P license

Responsibilities

  • Continuous analysis of inventory levels, reorder points and provides recommendations for management of inventory including allocation levels at Air Wisconsin warehouse locations.
  • Ensures effective mentoring of direct reports.
  • Provide analysis support and review in coordination with Maintenance for materials budget and variance analysis.
  • Responsible for the creation and oversight of metrics supporting departmental goals.
  • Attendance is considered an essential responsibility.
