About The Position

The Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing the Materials Department processes, ensuring efficient purchasing, inventory management, and compliance with regulations. This role involves coordinating with other departments, negotiating with repair providers, and managing personnel training and development. The position requires strong communication and organizational skills, with a focus on maintaining operational efficiency and minimizing interruptions to fleet operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three or more years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Proven record of experience supervising materials operations.
  • Experience coordinating materials activities with maintenance control and down line stations.
  • Experience developing subordinate technical skills.
  • Ability to work multiple tasks while under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, or similar software programs.
  • Possession of a state driver's license.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel to support multi-station operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years college preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Materials Department processes, identifying and implementing enhancements.
  • Ensure materials are purchased at or below fair market value and meet Company standards.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with other departments to support fleet operations.
  • Negotiate with repair providers for optimal pricing and delivery times.
  • Ensure repair providers are approved by the Quality Assurance department.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels for routine use expendable parts while minimizing excess stock.
  • Properly package components to prevent damage during shipment.
  • Prepare proper documentation for parts being shipped worldwide, with emphasis on hazardous materials.
  • Direct the training of all material department personnel.
  • Maintain an inventory control system for accurate accountability of materials.
  • Ensure the material department complies with all applicable FAA regulations.
  • Ensure assigned personnel complete all due/overdue training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Materials.
