About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Materials Manager, Program Specific to be a focal point for a designated program within the Blades business. This role is responsible for managing critical parts lists, tracking inventory, coordinating schedules, and driving process improvements to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of materials. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with experience in materials management and a strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management, supply chain, quality or similar industrial environment; OR a Master's degree and 3 or more years experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management, supply chain, quality or similar industrial environment.
  • In absence of a degree, 9 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, materials management, supply chain, quality or similar industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes and/or software.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a team lead/supervisory capacity.
  • Experience in Production and Planning Control fundamentals including MRP, Inventory Management, Capacity Planning, and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience working with Tableau, Kinaxis, Business Warehouse or PowerBI.
  • Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma concepts to improve departmental, factory related, and cross-departmental processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the critical parts list for the designated program and provide status updates during critical parts meetings.
  • Manage monthly/weekly delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate root cause analysis and corrective action activities for missed commits.
  • Confer with engineering and purchasing regarding stock procurement and availability.
  • Track and manage WIP inventory/Aged inventory.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Planners to update delivery commit streams.
  • Manage end-to-end part movement from raw material inputs to shipping.
  • Coordinate/project manage Value Stream improvement projects.
  • Support internal/external customer calls for specific programs.
  • Maintain Lines of Balance for program schedules.
  • Expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and requesting shipping orders.
  • Review and maintain the master production schedule.
  • Manage a team with flexibility to determine how assignments are completed.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued.
