About The Position
The Materials Management Technician is responsible for the shipping and receiving functions of the hospital, including the overall handling of freight into the receiving area. They coordinate and maintain a complete file of Purchase Orders, Bill of Lading Slips, and Outbound Shipping Receipts. The Materials Management Technician dispenses items to departments and/or patients, maintains inventory, stocks shelves, and assists with inventory counts.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of shipping and receiving experience.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Two (2) years of healthcare materials management experience
Responsibilities
- Inspects freight for damage and discrepancies on packing slips.
- Ensures equipment delivered matches packing slip for receiving.
- Dispenses freight to appropriate department.
- Responsible for packaging all outgoing shipments and documenting accurately.
- Maintains files of packing slips, purchase orders, bill of lading slips, and outbound shipping receipts.
- Processes and coordinates receipts and discrepancies with Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and Distribution.
