About The Position

Materials Management Technician is responsible for the shipping and receiving functions of the hospital the overall handling of freight into the receiving area. They coordinate and maintain a complete file of Purchase Orders, Bill of Lading Slips and Outbound Shipping Receipts. The Materials Management Technician dispenses to departments and/or patients, maintains inventory, stock shelves and assists with inventory counts. Requirements

  • Two (2) years of shipping and receiving experience
  • On-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times
  • Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains confidentiality
  • Performs essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environment
  • Learns current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized at Bozeman Health
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Various chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances. Infectious diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Inspects freight for damage and discrepancies on packing slips
  • Ensures equipment delivered matches packing slip for receiving
  • Dispenses freight to appropriate department
  • Responsible for packaging all out going shipments and documenting accurately
  • Maintains files of packing slips, purchase orders, bill of lading slips and outbound shipping receipts
  • Processes and coordinates receipts and discrepancies with Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and Distribution
