About The Position

The Boeing Company's Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Supply Chain is seeking a Materials Management & Transportation Manager (Level K) to lead their Site Functional Support team in North Charleston, South Carolina. This onsite position will provide oversight and leadership to individual contributors for Boeing South Carolina Operations within the 787 Program Fulfillment Team, supporting WIP (work in process parts control), Tool Control, 3PL management, and Contracts across BSC. The role involves managing a team of supply chain management analysts, field reps, and production coordinators, and requires complex data/trend analysis, problem resolution, strategic planning, scheduling, and project execution. The leader will have ownership of tooling purchasing and planning for the new 88-48 Final Assembly building and coordination with suppliers and 3PLs to meet ramp milestones. Responsibilities include managing supplier KPI performance, supporting emergent orders, and managing inventory in all Point of Use across BSC and 3PL inventory. Collaboration with multiple business functions and teams, including 787 Operations/Production, Lean, Quality, and Compliance, is essential.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course 'Exploring Leadership'
  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment
  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain or materials management/fulfillment
  • Experience with inventory / ERP systems
  • Willingness and ability to work any shift assigned based on business needs
  • Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience in strategic planning, scheduling and project execution
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team
  • Experience with the following (or similar industry) systems: CribMaster, Velocity, Kit Integration and Tracking System (KITS), E-Enabled Tracking and Communication (eTRAC), and Order Manager (GXO Warehouse Management System)
  • Experience with safety and quality processes
  • Self-motivated, works well independently
