About The Position

This role involves continuous sitting while driving and operating a forklift, including emptying trash dumpsters. The position requires working both inside and outside in various weather conditions, moving product. Occasional climbing in and out of the forklift is necessary, with specific step heights noted. Safe operation of the forklift requires the use of both hands and constant pedaling with the right foot. Full range of motion of the neck and spine is essential for visibility while driving and handling product. A key responsibility includes changing a 45-pound propane cylinder on the forklift up to 50 inches high, once per shift. Operators work all shifts, including nights, and must have good vision (20/40 with correction) for low-light conditions. The operator must be certified in forklift and crane operation. The standard shift is 8 hours, with potential overtime up to 10-12 hours. Employees receive two 10-minute breaks and one 20-minute meal break per shift.

Requirements

Minimum High School Diploma or GED
Must be able to lift minimum of 50 lbs
Regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Required to push, pull, reach and lift above head and below shoulder level
Able to carry bumpers weighing up to 50lbs for as far as 15-20 feet
Vision requirement is 20/40 with correction
Must be able to see in the dark and in times of reduced light
Must be able to use both hands for safe operation of forklift
Operator must have full range of motion of the neck and spine
Certified in operation of the forklift and crane operation

Responsibilities

Continuous sitting while driving and operating forklift
Empties trash dumpster with use of forklift
Works inside and outside moving product
May work in adverse weather (cold, heat, rain, etc.)
Occasionally climbs in and out of forklift
Must be able to use both hands for safe operation of forklift
Operator must have full range of motion of the neck and spine
Operator must change 45-pound propane cylinder on back of forklift (up to 50 inches) once per shift
