About The Position

The Forklift Operator will be responsible for assisting with extra workload, covering absences, ensuring proper material is sent to customers, inventory assistance, and layered audits. This role involves loading, unloading, and staging products and materials, as well as unloading materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stacking them in assigned places. The operator must be proficient in using scanning equipment and inventory software via tablet and onboard computer systems. Key duties include locating and moving stock for storage or shipment, identifying equipment and reporting any accidents or incidents, participating in investigations, and reporting shortages or quality deficiencies. The role also requires transporting raw materials to production workstations, assisting team members in material handling without equipment, and helping maintain a safe and orderly facility environment. Daily equipment checklist inspections for maintenance and safety are essential, along with compliance with company policies, safety policies, and legal guidelines. Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • 6 months experience with Forklift and the ability to pass CLIs forklift training certification process.
  • Ability to read, listen, understand, and follow directions and work instructions.
  • Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment, including tuggers, forklifts, cherry pickers, and stand-up reach trucks.
  • Ability to count accurately.
  • Ability and flexibility to work in a variety of roles.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Must have the ability to use scanning equipment and inventory software via tablet and onboard computer systems.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with extra workload, covering absences, ensuring proper material is sent to customer, inventory assistance and layered audits.
  • Load, unload and stage products and materials.
  • Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places.
  • Locate and move stock to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
  • Identify equipment, rack, product and property and report immediately any accident or incident to management.
  • Participate in incident investigations and reporting.
  • Report any shortages or quality deficiencies to shipping or receiving.
  • Transport raw materials to production workstations.
  • Help other team members in material handling capacity not requiring the use material handling equipment.
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly environment in the facility.
  • Inspect and maintain daily equipment checklists to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance.
  • Comply with company policies, safety policies and legal guidelines.
  • Other duties as required.
