About The Position

This position is part of the Logistics team within the Finance & Budget division and supports centralized receiving and distribution operations. The individual in this role is responsible for processing, transporting, and distributing materials, supplies, and packages from Central Receiving and the warehouse to designated campus locations. The position also assists with receiving functions at the warehouse, including scanning and documenting items using handheld tracking systems to ensure accurate inventory control. This role works collaboratively within a team environment to support daily operational needs. Requirements

  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Ability to lift, move, pull, and push items at a max of 100 lbs. safely and consistently.
  • Ability to operate basic warehouse and material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, carts, dollies, forklifts) in a safe manner.
  • Ability to use handheld scanners or tracking devices to accurately process and document materials.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, routes, and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a warehouse and distribution environment.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate handling and delivery of materials and supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials, supplies, and packages at Central Receiving and warehouse locations.
  • Scan and document items using handheld bar-code scanners or tracking systems to ensure accurate inventory control and distribution records.
  • Load, unload, move, and stage materials using appropriate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, carts, dollies).
  • Organize and prepare materials for internal campus distribution in accordance with established operational procedures.
  • Support efficient material flow and maintain orderly staging areas within the warehouse and receiving environment.
  • Transport and distribute materials, supplies, packages, and campus mail to designated departments and offices in accordance with established routes and schedules.
  • Load and secure items in university vehicles to prevent damage during transport.
  • Obtain delivery confirmations or signatures as required and maintain accurate distribution documentation.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service while coordinating deliveries with campus departments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse, dock, and vehicle environment in accordance with university safety standards.
  • Operate university vehicles and material handling equipment safely and in compliance with campus policies and traffic regulations.
  • Assist with general warehouse support tasks as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
