About The Position

KRS Aerospace Elastomeric Solutions is seeking an experienced Materials Engineering Manager to lead elastomeric materials development and oversee analytical laboratory operations supporting aerospace sealing solutions. This leadership role is responsible for advancing material innovation, supporting production and quality initiatives, and ensuring compliance with aerospace and regulatory standards. This position offers the opportunity to lead critical materials engineering initiatives, build technical capability, and directly contribute to the performance and reliability of aerospace products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in elastomeric materials, polymers, adhesives, or related materials engineering
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in a technical or laboratory environment
  • Experience with materials testing and analytical laboratory equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Experience supporting AS9100 or similar quality management systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead formulation, development, and validation of elastomeric compounds, adhesives, and related materials
  • Serve as a technical expert in materials performance, failure analysis, and root cause investigation
  • Evaluate and qualify raw materials, suppliers, and material specifications
  • Support engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams with technical expertise
  • Establish, manage, and oversee analytical laboratory operations
  • Direct materials testing activities, including physical, mechanical, thermal, and chemical testing
  • Ensure proper operation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Develop and maintain laboratory procedures and testing protocols
  • Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace and chemical regulations, including AS9100, REACH, RoHS, and related standards
  • Maintain documentation supporting quality systems and customer requirements
  • Support internal and external audits related to materials and laboratory operations
  • Lead, mentor, and develop laboratory personnel and technical staff
  • Prioritize projects and laboratory activities based on organizational needs
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and technical capability development
