Materials Engineering Intern
About The Position
Lyten is looking for a Materials Engineering Intern who will be responsible for operating a variety of analytical instruments and laboratory equipment using established SOPs to prepare or process samples, making measurements, and/or generating data. Will be expected to: Operate a variety of analytical instruments and laboratory equipment using established SOPs to prepare or process samples, make measurements, and/or generate data. Document data and results reporting process conditions and material properties. Perform data analysis using statistical software. Possess strong time management skills, ability to deliver results on schedule. Communicate status of work assignments, timelines for completion, issues with equipment, and publication of data. Utilize a suite of productivity software and analysis tools for data processing and report generation. Observe all safety procedures and wear required protective equipment. Be a self-starter and work independently with a can-do attitude.
Requirements
- Enrollment in undergraduate university program and completion of sophomore level coursework in STEM
- University, laboratory and/or industrial experience using laboratory equipment and instrumentation to collect data along with computer programs to process, analyze, and report data
- Able to lift 20-30 lbs.
- Able to stand for up to 5 hours in a lab
- Strong time management skills, ability to deliver results on schedule
- Self-starter and work independently with a can-do attitude
