The Materials Technician is responsible for assembling and routing various types of printed material accurately and timely. This role involves receiving, reviewing, and processing requests for materials, supplies, and equipment, and determining the accuracy of paperwork for procurement. The position also requires rechecking the quantity and condition of delivered materials, verifying shipments, and certifying invoices for payment. The role includes preparing reports, operating a forklift safely, serving as a Team Leader to forklift operators, and maintaining shipping and receiving records. Additionally, the Materials Coordinator is expected to exemplify leadership, perform routine cycle counts, monitor and reinforce FIFO, train Forklift Operators, and handle administrative duties. Key tasks also include producing system or manual shippers, transmitting Advanced Shipping Notices, contacting customers, suppliers, and carriers, developing follow-up forms, staging and loading materials, and receiving inbound material via TRANS4M, PLEX, and CMMSIII. The role also involves reporting shortages, reviewing plant layout for proper material placement, facilitating 5-S activities, and monitoring truck boards and Plex monitors.
