About The Position

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for assigning work, ensuring the smooth flow of materials through Shipping and Receiving, and timely shipment and receipt of materials to avoid hindering production. This role also involves providing training to new and existing associates on procedures, equipment, and products.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 6 months as Line Leader (any department)
  • Good interpersonal skills and must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years’ experience in material handling or shipping and receiving preferred.
  • Knowledge of MRP II concepts, practices, and procedures helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the timely processing of all outbound material issues, all incoming material receipts, and all types of inventory control transactions.
  • Resolve data accuracy problems associated with the shipping and receiving process quickly.
  • Perform filing activities per department requirements.
  • Process receipts, match paperwork, and send to accounting per accounting guidelines.
  • Build relationships with customers and transportation companies to create a team environment.
  • Meet with associate(s) when necessary to coach, counsel, or confront issues.
  • Process all inventory transactions in a manner consistent with accounting guidelines and departmental standards.
  • Interface with internal personnel to derive acceptable solutions for data discrepancies and lost time.
  • Ensure necessary tools and equipment are ready and available to meet schedules.
  • Prepare instructions for daily PMs and periodic equipment maintenance (forklifts, reach trucks).
  • Assist associates in achieving goals in safety, quality, and accountability while ensuring productivity.
  • Assist Materials Department in ensuring materials are accounted for (WTS, DTSLOC, Warehouse).
  • Schedule vacations and enter necessary dates in the KRONOS system.
  • Understand and implement MOS objectives to increase productivity.
