About The Position

The Materials Coordinator (MC) plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth transition of pacing items requiring parts and tooling. This position acts as a liaison between North State and the Customer, managing the processing and approval of parts, including those requiring expedited fees like AOG or Priority. The MC is responsible for communicating any materials-related concerns that may impact aircraft delivery to supervisors and project managers. They will interface with Customer Representatives to maintain a continuous flow of information on aircraft parts status, update the ERP system with alternate part numbers and tracking information, and coordinate timely off-unit dispositions for repair. The MC will also monitor the arrival status of ordered parts multiple times daily, coordinating with purchasers and receiving personnel to expedite procurement issues. Additionally, they will process part and tool requests for production using the North State ERP System, act as a runner for HOT parts, and notify relevant departments of required dates for parts sent out for overhaul or repair. The role involves coordinating the immediate return of off-units removed during maintenance and ensuring all outside services performed on the aircraft are completed and received in the computer system for proper billing. The MC will work closely with the Project Manager, Stores, and Purchasing to disposition RTS Parts daily and will be responsible for briefing NSA Parts daily at customer production meetings. The position also includes performing other assigned duties and ensuring a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with skill groups and shifts to ensure smooth transition of pacing items requiring parts and tooling.
  • Act as a liaison between North State and the Customer for processing and approval of parts requiring expediting fees such as AOG or Priority.
  • Inform the immediate Supervisor and/or Project Manager of any materials related concerns which may affect the delivery of the aircraft.
  • Interface with Customer Representatives to maintain a continuous flow of information on aircraft parts status, including alternate part numbers and tracking information to be updated into the ERP system.
  • Coordinate off-unit dispositions to be sent out for repair in a timely manner.
  • Monitor arrival status of ordered parts multiple times daily, coordinating with a designated Purchaser and Receiving personnel to expedite any parts procurement issues.
  • Process part and tool requests for production using the North State ERP System.
  • Act as a “Runner” for HOT parts related to time-sensitive maintenance tasks.
  • Notify the designated Purchaser and shipping department of all required dates for parts sent out for outside overhaul or repair.
  • Coordinate with the Customer and the materials group for the immediate return of all off units removed during maintenance providing the shipping department with all pertinent information.
  • Verify all outside services performed on the aircraft have been completed and received in the computer system at the end of the check to ensure proper billing.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, Stores and Purchasing daily as tasks are closed to disposition all RTS Parts daily, including requesting an RMA to be created if necessary.
  • Brief all NSA Parts daily at the morning / afternoon customer production meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
