About The Position

The Materials Coordinator (MC) plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of aircraft by coordinating material flow, managing parts and tooling, and acting as a liaison between internal teams and the customer. This position requires close collaboration with various skill groups, shifts, and departments to address material-related concerns and maintain a continuous flow of information regarding aircraft parts status. The MC will be responsible for monitoring part arrival, processing requests, coordinating repairs, and ensuring accurate data entry into the ERP system.

Requirements

  • Experience in materials coordination or a related field.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Ability to act as a liaison between different groups and the customer.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to monitor and expedite parts procurement.
  • Understanding of aircraft maintenance processes (implied by context).

  • Ability to work closely with Project Managers, Stores, and Purchasing.
  • Preparedness to brief on parts status daily.

  • Experience with North State ERP System.
  • Knowledge of AOG or Priority parts processing.
  • Experience coordinating outside services for aircraft parts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with skill groups and shifts to ensure smooth transition of pacing items requiring parts and tooling.
  • Act as a liaison between North State and the Customer for processing and approval of parts requiring expediting fees (e.g., AOG or Priority).
  • Inform the immediate Supervisor and/or Project Manager of any materials-related concerns that may affect aircraft delivery.
  • Interface with Customer Representatives to maintain a continuous flow of information on aircraft parts status, including alternate part numbers and tracking information, updating the ERP system.
  • Coordinate off-unit dispositions for timely repair.
  • Monitor the arrival status of ordered parts multiple times daily, coordinating with a designated Purchaser and Receiving personnel to expedite procurement issues.
  • Process part and tool requests for production using the North State ERP System in conjunction with Maintenance.
  • Act as a Runner for HOT parts related to time-sensitive maintenance tasks.
  • Notify the designated Purchaser and shipping department of all required dates for parts sent out for outside overhaul or repair.
  • Coordinate with the Customer and the materials group for the immediate return of all off-units removed during maintenance, providing the shipping department with all pertinent information.
  • Verify that all outside services performed on the aircraft have been completed and received in the computer system at the end of the check for proper billing.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, Stores, and Purchasing daily to disposition all RTS Parts, including requesting an RMA if necessary.
  • Brief all NSA Parts daily at the morning/afternoon customer production meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
