About The Position

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for coordinating procurement, delivery, and inventory management to support project timelines and budgets effectively. The Material Coordinator collaborates closely with project managers and Superintendent, suppliers, and on-site teams to ensure material needs and any supply chain runs smoothly for site. By maintaining accurate records and tracking shipments, this role helps prevent delays and cost overruns, contributing directly to project success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in materials coordination, procurement, or inventory management within the construction industry.
  • Telehandler, Skid steer and Forklift training.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with suppliers, project teams, and management.
  • Fall arrest, CSO, WHIMIS 2015, CSTS

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Rigging and hosting considered and asset.
  • Electrical apprenticeship or Electrical material knowledge considered and asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement process for construction materials, including sourcing, ordering, tracking deliveries and receiving duties.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to ensure material availability and minimize waste.
  • Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to forecast material requirements and adjust orders accordingly.
  • Monitor shipment statuses and coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports related to material usage, costs, and inventory levels for project CMT.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in the handling and storage of materials.
  • Inspections of goods received and documentation of any missing or damaged items
  • Participates/complies with company safety programs & company policies.
  • Other duties as required as directed by the site superintendent.
