The Materials & Shipping Clerk maintains a clean, organized inventory and shipping area while supporting production and ensuring accurate, damage-free shipments to meet customer demands. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience using ERP systems for inventory transactions
  • Ability to operate or be trained on a forklift and pallet jack
  • Ability to read a tape measure and operate basic shop tools (nail gun, chop saw)
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to perform physical activities, including standing, bending, climbing, lifting, and handling materials

Responsibilities

  • Ship and receive all materials for the facility.
  • Load and unload freight from carriers using pallet jack or forklift.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse, inventory, and assembly area.
  • Issue parts from inventory to jobs and pull parts for job kits and subassemblies.
  • Return unused parts to inventory and ensure proper transactions in ERP.
  • Conduct cycle counts in coordination with the materials group.
  • Research and resolve inventory or job discrepancies.
  • Scan packing slips, job folders, and related documentation to the server.
  • Clean, prepare, and package control panels and materials to prevent shipping damage.
  • Vacuum and wipe down outgoing panels.
  • Take and upload digital photos of outgoing panels and loose items to correct project folders.
  • Verify all line items on sales orders prior to shipment.
  • Create and print carrier BOLs, labels, packing slips, and required shipment documentation.
  • Obtain shipment quotes (excluding UPS/FedEx as applicable).
  • Schedule LTL and local courier shipments.
  • Perform final quality checks and complete required check sheets before shipment.
  • Scan daily outbound shipment documentation to the server.
  • Disassemble and file job/panel paperwork electronically.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on shipping equipment (InstaPak machine, saw, etc.).
  • Maintain general housekeeping, including trash and recycling removal.
