About The Position

The Materials Associate is responsible for processing transactions accurately and timely related to the receiving of physical goods from suppliers, returned goods from customer departments, stock replenishments, and the filling of customer orders. This role utilizes a management system, PC, and RF scanner technologies for transaction processing. The associate will review and verify all documentation, operate powered and non-powered equipment safely, and ensure goods are transported and stored to prevent damage. They will also supervise the receiving and distribution of equipment and supplies, ensuring they are handled, stored, and maintained securely. Non-functional equipment and supplies will be removed from service and reported for corrective action. The role requires maintaining clean and orderly working and storage areas, adhering to safety regulations (department, System, and OSHA), and performing good housekeeping. Completion of a daily inspection checklist for powered equipment is also required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work in patient care areas independently, often under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to support multiple function areas during the shift.
  • Requires lengthy periods of standing and walking.
  • Frequently requires sitting, stooping and stretching.
  • Requires frequent pushing and/or pulling of equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to attend to several stimuli simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain emotional stability under stress.

  • Equivalent and related work experience preferred.
  • Depending on facility, position may require a valid driver's license (no violations in last 3 years).

Responsibilities

  • Ensures equipment and supplies are handled, stored, and maintained in a secure environment.
  • Removes non-functional equipment and supplies from service and reports problems for corrective action.
  • Inspects working and storage areas to ensure clean and orderly conditions.
  • Works safely, complies with all department, System, and OSHA safety regulations, and performs good housekeeping.
  • Completes and submits daily inspection checklists when using any powered equipment.
