About The Position

Selects appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues. Anticipates and resolves complex issues in creative and effective ways, developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. Balances technical product, cost, and schedule in problem solving. Works without appreciable direction; work is reviewed from a long-range perspective. Exercises latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments and makes authoritative decisions and recommendations. Generates and communicates technical requirements to external suppliers and internal multi-engineering disciplines including Powerplant, Environmental Control, Structures, Electrical, and Mechanical. Reviews proposed designs and workflows using Smarteam and Catia. Produces EAR approved test plans and results reports. Performs manufacturing liaison MRB integration and implements continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the job, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years in specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors.
  • Experience credit for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for Masters and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

  • Materials and Processes Engineering experience generating and communicating technical requirements to external suppliers and internal multi-engineering disciplines.
  • Experience with Smarteam and Catia for reviewing proposed designs and workflows.
  • Experience producing EAR approved test plans and results reports.
  • Demonstrated successful manufacturing liaison MRB integration and implemented continuous improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of selecting materials used in pressurized and unpressurized environments.
  • Knowledge of materials containing chemical substances identified in international and national environmental regulations (REACH, TSCA, EPA) is a plus.
