About The Position

The Material Tech - Oven position is responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading ovens, selecting and verifying correct oven cure profiles, and completing all required production and operational paperwork. This role involves recording labor, moving completed parts, performing routine preventative maintenance, and maintaining a clean and organized work area according to 5S standards. The position also requires close coordination with other departments for oven scheduling, safe operation of equipment like overhead cranes, and strict adherence to all established work procedures, company policies, and safety rules.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to complete production paperwork accurately.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read and speak English.
  • Ability to work effectively with other departments and team members.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Safety-conscious with a commitment to following procedures.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Team-oriented with a cooperative attitude.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Must be able to lift 45lbs.
  • Must be able to wear all required PPE.
  • Must be able to stand for 10-12 hrs. per shift.
  • Must be able to work in both hot and cold conditions.
  • Must be able to work around different types of resins and composite materials.
  • Must be able to work around chemicals and solvents such as acetone, releasing agents and various cleaning supplies.

  • Previous manufacturing or production environment experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload ovens in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Select and verify correct oven cure profiles prior to operation.
  • Complete all required production and operational paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Record labor in and out using the data collection system.
  • Move completed parts to the designated staging area.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including sweeping and mopping floors as needed.
  • Maintain 5S standards to support workplace organization and efficiency.
  • Work closely with other departments to coordinate and determine oven schedules.
  • Safely operate and/or assist in the use of an overhead crane, as applicable.
  • Follow all established work procedures and standard operating practices for the area.
  • Comply with all company policies, safety rules, and work instructions at all times.
