About The Position

The Material Coordinator / Scheduler ensures that a comprehensive material plan is developed and executed to support production schedules, maintain inventory accuracy, and reflect current customer demand. Operating with mid-level autonomy, this role coordinates across production, purchasing, stores, and project management functions — owning day-to-day execution of SAP-based scheduling and inventory management while proactively communicating shortages, rework status, and order ship date impacts to keep the build schedule on track.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5–7 years of relevant work experience, or college degree in a related field with applicable experience.
  • Previous experience in a production environment required; production scheduling, planning, or control strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with inventory control software (ERP/SAP) required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to establish priorities and direct hourly associates.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Business acumen with understanding of production operations and scheduling.
  • Business performance measurement and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in production and inventory data.
  • Effective communication — written and verbal — across departments and organizational levels.
  • Change agility and adaptability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Computer proficiency, including advanced use of SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong knowledge of SAP required; proficiency in transaction entry, scheduling, and inventory correction.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) highly recommended.
  • Experience implementing transactional technology such as bar coding is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute material plans that support production schedules.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate across departments to ensure on-time build completion.
  • Review, maintain, and provide comments to the Production Schedule from SAP.
  • Maintain the Production Schedule to reflect current customer demand and build priorities.
  • Review Schedule with Supervisor / Team Lead to develop Run Order for the Line.
  • Analyze, report, and correct production data including usage transactions, production process errors, and quantity transactions to support manufacturing efficiency.
  • Enter and validate production data using SAP; data corrections are reviewed and approved by supervisor prior to submission.
  • Maintain Tower Rework List / Schedule with Completion Dates to provide clear communication to the team on tower status.
  • Coordinate Tower Rework activities with Supervisor / Team Lead.
  • Run Shortage report to identify purchased parts shortages.
  • Conduct daily audits of purchased part availability.
  • Communicate shortage information to Materials / Purchasing to expedite missing parts per the build schedule.
  • Correct inventory errors in SAP based on part availability; all corrections are subject to supervisor or finance designee review and approval prior to finalization.
  • Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counts and track material flow through production.
  • Support Shipping and Receiving Activities to support on-time delivery and production needs.
  • Input Line Downs for missing or defective parts.
  • Maintain Line Down Open List and close line items upon resolution.
  • Communicate with the team on issues impacting order ship dates to ensure Project Managers have accurate information to provide customers.
  • Direct Material Handler activity as required to maintain material flow.
  • Communicate with Supervisor / Team Lead on daily priorities and production issues.
  • Coordinate Tower Rework scheduling and communication across the team.
  • Establish priorities and provide direction to hourly associates as needed.
