This role is responsible for initiating, sourcing, and following up on requirements for outside processing and warehousing. The Material Processing Buyer Planner will develop and maintain supplier relationships, support sales with quick turnarounds on quotes, and build a database of processing sources. The position involves assessing shop floor workload, executing outside process plans, and managing production planning for customer sales orders requiring outside processing. Key responsibilities include understanding and reviewing inventory, monitoring customer contract levels, creating and scheduling outside processing orders, and processing service order change notices and confirmations. The role also requires maintaining current lead times, managing service order instructions, communicating with receiving and supply chain departments, and processing purchase order acknowledgements and changes. Additionally, the Buyer Planner will purchase MRO items, complete cost confirmation in the receiving process, identify and resolve invoice discrepancies, manage outside inventory, and generate scrap sales orders. Collaboration with the Quality Control department for testing and inspections, processing mill returns, and driving continuous improvement in outside processing management are also essential. No supervisory responsibilities are included in this role.
