About The Position

Zipline is seeking a Material Planning Intern to support the planning and tactical execution needed to ensure hardware material readiness as the company expands into new U.S. metros. The intern will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Global Supply Management to improve reporting structures, vendor interactions, and deployment of major vehicle systems. The role is part of the Integrated Planning & Business Operations team, which plans materials and supports supply-chain readiness for Zipline’s expansion.

This is a full-time, in-person internship at Zipline’s headquarters in South San Francisco. The Spring 2027 internship runs from January 2027 to April or May 2027. The hourly rate is $37. Additional benefits may include relocation support, a housing stipend, overtime pay, paid sick time, and other benefits, where applicable and subject to local requirements.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a technical discipline.
• Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency with data tools, from advanced Excel to SQL or Python.
• Ability to translate complex findings into clear insights for diverse internal stakeholders.
• Collaborative, detail-oriented approach.
• Comfort with ambiguity and ability to propose and execute solutions independently.
• Passion for Zipline’s mission and commitment to making an impact during the internship.

• Advanced degree (MBA or MS) is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance of Clear to Build (CTB) tracking for vital systems, including risk mitigation and cross-team communication.
• Develop automated reporting and visibility dashboards for part shortages, shipment logistics, and other planning data.
• Evaluate consumption patterns and propose stocking methodologies to optimize spares management for current flight programs.
• Establish standardized supplier reporting formats for capacity updates and delivery timelines.
• Improve scalable planning workflows and tools to enhance transparency across functional departments.
