About The Position
The Material Planning Coordinator supports the material planning and control function at Newport News Shipbuilding. The role prepares and monitors material requisitions and aligns material schedules with production schedules. It maintains engineering specifications and production schedules, plans material movement among purchasing, warehouse, and production, and creates reports on material plans and schedules. The position uses material requirements planning (MRP) systems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and 6 years of additional education and/or experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and monitor material requisitions.
- Coordinate material schedules with production schedules.
- Maintain engineering specifications and production schedules.
- Plan material movement within purchasing, warehouse, and production.
- Create and generate reports on material plans and schedules.
