About The Position

The Material Planner is responsible for end-to-end inventory planning, including managing Sales in Excess of invoicing from purchase requisition through customer invoice. The role supports internal customer service inquiries, sets inventory parameters and targets, and ensures inventory is adequately replenished through purchase orders. It contributes to ABB Smart Power at the Regional Distribution Center in Mt Juliet, Tennessee, and is onsite.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials/Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, with 2+ years of relevant experience in Materials Planning, Sourcing, and Logistics; alternatively, an Associate’s degree in a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge of integrated ERP systems, specifically SAP.
• Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to deliver results with minimal supervision.
• Solid time management and organization skills.
• Clear communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Work authorization that permits employment with ABB in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• APICS, ISM, or equivalent supply chain certifications.
• Power BI proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Define inventory policies based on specified segmentation.
• Calculate and maintain inventory parameters—including safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead time, and replenishment strategies—in planning systems and ERPs.
• Coordinate material planning with call-offs to ensure purchase requisitions are converted into purchase orders, collaborating with operations buyers and services.
• Collaborate with buyers to support supplier performance in on-time delivery, minimum order quantity, quality, lead time, and flexibility.
• Support internal customer service inquiries.
• Manage end-to-end inventory planning, including Sales in Excess of invoicing from purchase requisition to customer invoice.
• Set inventory parameters and targets and ensure adequate inventory replenishment through purchase orders.
