About The Position

Humanscale is seeking a hands-on Material Planner responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the movements of raw materials, in-process materials, and packaging materials. The goal is to ensure these materials are available at the right time, in the right quantity, at the right place, and at the optimal inventory level. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with Production Scheduling, Finance, Logistics, and Operations to achieve on-time shipments and inventory objectives.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4-5 years of Supply Chain Management experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong organizational and detailed skills with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Very proficient in Excel.
  • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of MRP systems, planning and executions, supply chain management practices, bills of material, and knowledge of material control scheduling.
  • MRP/ERP experience a must.
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, team development, and technical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management within and outside the company.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
  • PLUS on INFOR system experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the materials process to support timely operations and production schedules to meet customer order ship dates.
  • Manage and review inputs that establish proper inventory levels (targeted weeks of supply) and controls (min./max. levels, lead times, etc.) for the ordering process to ensure purchase parts, WIP, finished goods, consignment, and in-transit materials meet division and corporate inventory goals.
  • Utilize MRP and/or various reports to plan replenishments for various product components and raw materials.
  • Establish supplier production priorities using sales forecasts, customer orders, interplant demands, service part demands, inventory, and material/capacity limitations to provide production scheduling with a valid planned schedule.
  • Review and update material forecasts regularly based on demand changes.
  • Review all engineering changes that affect material planning or suppliers.
  • Develop and manage relationships with suppliers.
  • Initiate and collaboratively develop opportunities with key stakeholders to improve processes and costs.
  • Implement and influence best practices in supply chain disciplines.
  • Work with Quality to manage rejections and returns with vendors.
  • Operate in a continuous improvement mode focusing on quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Perform special projects and assignments as required to meet work unit goals.
