About The Position
Taiga Motors is seeking a Material Planner to support our manufacturing operations by ensuring the timely and efficient availability of materials required for production. This role is critical in aligning demand from production schedules with supply planning, while optimizing inventory levels and working capital. The Material Planner will act as a key link between production, procurement, and inventory management, helping to ensure smooth production flow, minimize disruptions, and improve overall supply chain performance. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or related
- Experience working with MRP / ERP systems
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Advanced MS Excel skills (data analysis, reporting, and modeling)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with NetSuite
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
Responsibilities
- Own and manage Material Requirement Planning (MRP) based on production schedules, forecasts, and demand signals
- Translate production plans into material requirements, ensuring timely availability of components and raw materials
- Develop and maintain working capital projections related to material demand and inventory levels
- Partner closely with procurement to align purchase orders, supplier timelines, and material availability with production needs
- Support production line start-ups and ramp-ups by planning material readiness
- Analyze inventory performance metrics, including inventory turnover, aging, and carrying costs
- Identify and implement improvements to optimize inventory levels, reduce waste, and improve material flow
- Investigate and resolve material-related issues impacting production, working cross-functionally to drive solutions
- Continuously refine planning parameters and strategies to improve forecast accuracy and supply reliability
