About The Position

The Material / Logistics Handler is responsible for the day-to-day receiving, organization, staging, movement, tracking, and distribution of electrical construction materials, equipment, tools, and supplies at an assigned jobsite or location. The position serves as the primary day-to-day logistics contact for the assigned jobsite, coordinating directly with field leadership regarding routine material deliveries, staging, distribution, shortages, and other logistics needs. Issues requiring additional resources, cross-project coordination, or broader resolution are escalated to the Logistics Coordinator.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in electrical construction, material handling, warehouse operations, or construction logistics preferred.
  • Familiarity with electrical construction materials and terminology preferred.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material-handling equipment preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use inventory, purchasing, or warehouse-management systems.
  • Ability to read and understand packing lists, material requests, delivery documentation, and basic construction documents.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple material requests in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively with limited supervision.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work around active construction areas.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and safely handle construction materials and equipment.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and wear required PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect electrical materials, equipment, tools, and supplies delivered to the jobsite or assigned location.
  • Verify quantities and materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and delivery documentation; promptly report damaged, missing, incorrect, or incomplete materials.
  • Safely unload, move, organize, store, secure, stage, and distribute materials in support of project schedules and field requirements.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, lifts, and other material-handling equipment as authorized.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and material-location information and ensure materials are properly identified, labeled, organized, and traceable.
  • Assist with cycle counts, material reconciliation, inventory verification, transfers, returns, and movement of excess or reusable materials.
  • Monitor material levels and communicate shortages, discrepancies, delivery issues, or potential delays promptly.
  • Maintain clean, organized, secure, and safe material storage, laydown, and staging areas.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day logistics contact for the assigned jobsite.
  • Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel to understand and prioritize routine material requirements.
  • Coordinate routine deliveries, pickups, transfers, returns, and material movement within the assigned jobsite.
  • Escalate issues requiring additional resources, cross-project coordination, supplier resolution, or broader logistics support to the Logistics Coordinator.
  • Follow established project procedures for material receiving, storage, security, staging, and distribution.
  • Comply with company, OSHA, and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Follow required PPE, equipment-operation, material-handling, storage, housekeeping, and jobsite safety procedures.
  • Report unsafe conditions, accidents, incidents, property damage, and safety concerns in accordance with company procedures.
