About The Position

The Material Logistics Coordinator is responsible for processing and receiving materials and equipment, maintaining inventory control and records, and performing related work. This role involves accurately tallying goods and services received, comparing packing slips with purchase orders, handling return shipments, tracing lost shipments, and resolving discrepancies within the Metalware system. The coordinator will also communicate with transport companies and suppliers to manage merchandise flow and ensure adherence to specifications. Maintaining accurate records of received materials and uploading them to the Imaging system for team access is a key part of the role.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Effective communication skills, which include verbal and written.
Experience with Microsoft Office.
Willingness to learn mainframe program (Metalware).

Related industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Process and receive materials and equipment.
Maintain inventory control and records.
Complete accurate tally of goods and services received, including weight, destination, and charges from bills of lading and shipper’s declaration.
Receive incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.
Process return shipments from customers.
Trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiate retrieval of proof of delivery documents.
Partner with inside sales to review and correct customer order discrepancies.
Communicate with transport companies and suppliers to expedite, trace, or return merchandise that does not conform to specifications or purchase orders.
Resolve discrepancies on the Metalware system or on manifest.
Keep records of materials received and upload to the Imaging system for the team to access.
