About The Position

The Materials Handler is mainly accountable for safely unloading import containers without material handling equipment. This position is responsible for working jointly with team members to down stack floor loaded inventory from containers. Employees must work in a safe manner following all outlined safety policies, maintain good housekeeping, and must follow all environmental policies and work instructions.

Requirements

• Ability to safely unload import product and work jointly with other team members
• Ability to focus and have a strong attention to details
• Effective organization skills and time management skills
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work with limited supervision and be productive
• Ability to establish positive work relationships
• Good eye/hand coordination with good flexibility
• Ability to move quickly and safely to meet timelines while ensuring quality standards are being met
• Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.

Responsibilities

• Selecting the appropriate pallet for the product being received
• Follow unloading procedures, and instructions from the supervisor or lead
