About The Position

a2b Fulfillment is a fast-growing, third-party provider of distribution support services, including Order Fulfillment, Contact Center Solutions, and a vast array of Value-Added services. We are currently recruiting for the position of Material Handler/Receiver/VAS Associate for our Hanover Township location. The Material Handler/Receiving Clerk/VAS Associate is responsible for safely and efficiently moving, storing, and replenishing inventory throughout the warehouse. The position operates forklifts and/or similar powered equipment to unload incoming shipments, load outgoing shipments, transport products to assigned storage locations, and replenish inventory. The Material Handler uses the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track assigned tasks and inventory movements while maintaining accuracy, organization, and safety standards. Accurately receiving and processing incoming shipments and ensuring received inventory matches the information in the company system. The position verifies shipment details, investigates and reports discrepancies, separates customer returns and items requiring additional processing, and assists with loading and unloading shipments. The Receiving Clerk is expected to maintain accuracy, productivity, and safety standards while performing the essential functions of the position. Preparing retail orders for shipment through labeling, kitting, assembly, repackaging, ticketing, and palletizing. This position involves repetitive work and may require handling and processing the same product continuously for extended periods. The VAS Associate uses tablets, scanners, printers, and pack-out software to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently while following established quality, productivity, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Warehouse, receiving, shipping, inventory, fulfillment, production, assembly, material-handling, or forklift experience required.
  • Forklift operator experience: 1 year (required)
  • Standup/Sitdown Forklift experience
  • Reach Lift experience
  • Stock Picker (Cherry Picker) experience
  • Forklift certification or ability to successfully complete company-required forklift training.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to accurately enter and track inventory movements in a WMS.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to identify products and follow designated storage and placement requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-directed, dependable, and motivated.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position safely and effectively, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be at least 18 years old, where required by applicable law or company policy.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts and/or similar warehouse equipment as trained and authorized.
  • Unload incoming shipments and load outgoing shipments.
  • Retrieve and transport products to assigned locations within pallet racking.
  • Replenish inventory and move products throughout designated warehouse areas.
  • Identify products to be selected, sorted, stored, or placed.
  • Follow designated aisle and storage specifications for product placement.
  • Accurately enter and update assigned tasks and product movements in the WMS.
  • Maintain accurate inventory placement and minimize mis-picks, shortages, and product damage.
  • Inspect products and pallets for visible damage and report issues as required.
  • Keep aisles and pallet-racking areas clean, organized, and accessible.
  • Place empty pallets in designated areas.
  • Maintain awareness of pedestrians, equipment, pallets, racks, and other warehouse activity.
  • Follow all company safety policies and equipment operating procedures.
  • Promptly report workplace hazards, damaged equipment, spills, and injuries.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Manage inbound and outbound shipments according to established procedures.
  • Verify incoming freight against system records and shipping documentation.
  • Check labels, case counts, pallet counts, weights, and delivery locations for accuracy.
  • Investigate inventory and receiving discrepancies and assist with resolving variances.
  • Verify product condition and report discrepancies or damaged products.
  • Review packing slips, receiver reports, and other shipment documentation for accuracy.
  • Communicate receiving discrepancies and shipment issues to the appropriate departments.
  • Separate customer returns and other items requiring processing by another department.
  • Load and unload incoming and outbound shipments as required.
  • Move pallets, boxes, products, and other materials to the appropriate location.
  • Accurately update and maintain receiving information in company systems.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform kitting, assembly, repackaging, labeling, ticketing, and other VAS activities as assigned.
  • Prepare retail products and orders according to established specifications.
  • Use a tablet, scanner, printer, and pack-out software to process orders.
  • Verify product and order information for accuracy.
  • Repeatedly handle and process the same or similar products for extended periods.
  • Package products using appropriate materials and procedures.
  • Label and ticket products accurately.
  • Organize and palletize completed orders for shipment.
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and reposition products, boxes, and materials as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
