About The Position

Our client is a prestigious and growing Plastic Injection Molding Manufacturer in the Valley area seeking to add a Material Handler onto our 2nd shift. This role is part of the Production Floor and Warehouse functional area. The Material Handler maintains production and distribution of product by pulling items from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies, and staging finished product. This position also preps for job runs by cleaning Dryers, Grinders, etc., and performs warehouse returns. This position reports to the Shift Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Computer Literacy in Microsoft applications (Word & Excel)
  • Strong sense of time organization and urgency.
  • Attentive and detail-oriented.
  • Experience in forklift, pallet jack and other heavy equipment operation and obtaining internal license.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds, stand/walk continuously and perform physical tasks.
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in a similar role.
  • Able to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong commitment and ability to follow safety rules and procedures and utilize safety equipment.
  • Must be proficient in English (communication & reading).
  • Ability to perform basic math functions to record production output.
  • Flexibility in terms of shift scheduling, including scheduling for overtime, Saturdays and holiday shifts.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Education or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Fork Lift Certification, or strong Forklift Experience
  • Previous experience as Material Handler

Responsibilities

  • Requisitions all materials required for molding and finishing jobs.
  • Maintains production and distribution of product by pulling items from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies, and staging finished product.
  • Preps for job runs by cleaning Dryers, Grinders, etc., and performs warehouse returns.
  • Requisitions from warehouse through work order pick lists all job materials.
  • Prepares molding jobs by identifying, preparing, and staging materials for drying and molding.
  • Cleans all dryers and granulators to assure contaminate-free moldings.
  • Prepares corrugation for press side jobs.
  • Records materials and mixing data on specified forms.
  • Mixes resins by using appropriate machines and mixing for specified times.
  • Weighs or measures materials, ingredients, or products to ensure conformance to requirements.
  • Assists floor in operator break schedule.
  • Assures proper materials identification throughout job process.
  • Participates in all scheduled physical inventories.
  • Transfers materials, supplies, or products between work areas, using moving equipment or hand tools.
  • Learns and upholds company standards to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and optimize work efficiency.
  • Strives to achieve company-specified production targets.
  • Keeps workspace clean and organized to maximize safety and productivity.
  • Learns, understands, and follows company requirements for employee safety, product quality, and productivity.
  • Communicates clearly with teammates and supervisors regarding all aspects of the job.
  • Performs, as assigned, other similar or related duties.
