About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and accurate loading and unloading of trucks, performing necessary computer transactions, and transporting and storing materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility. This role is crucial for supporting production by ensuring timely delivery of materials and efficient removal of finished goods, while maintaining accurate inventory records and a safe, organized work environment.

  • Ability to use a handheld Radio Frequency (RF) system
  • Solid computer skills, specifically ability to use the inventory control system
  • Ability to travel within the manufacturing area via main aisle ways with periodic entry to tight spaces for detail equipment review.
  • Full range of motion including the ability bend, stoop, lift up to 30 lbs and push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work overtime of varying levels.

Responsibilities

  • Safely unload inbound trucks and/or load outbound trucks, performing accurate inventory transactions in the inventory control system.
  • Ensure FIFO procedures are followed and receipts are entered timely and accurately.
  • Ensure shipments are on time and match bill of lading paperwork, noting any discrepancies.
  • Support the production department by delivering necessary product, materials, and dunnage.
  • Remove finished product from workstations to prepare for shipment per customer requirements.
  • Scan all components and/or finished goods materials to the proper location to ensure physical location matches system location.
  • Maintain a safe and accurate staging and/or storage area for raw materials and/or finished goods by performing proper 5S procedures.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all job instructions for any production process for which the associate has been qualified or trained, including hazardous waste/material handling procedures.
