About The Position

The Material Handler helps facilitate quality orders that ship on time by loading, unloading, kitting, and moving materials within or near a plant, yard, or work site. The role involves following written or oral instructions to identify materials and containers to move, handling materials manually and with equipment, preparing loads for transit, recording material movements, and supplying work cells through kitting.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensed Forklift Operator.

Responsibilities

Read travelers or follow oral instructions to determine which materials or containers to move.
Load and unload materials by hand onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
Load materials into vehicles or onto pallets and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or transit damage.
Move materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
Count and record the number of material units moved or handled on the daily production sheet.
Operate a forklift to load trucks and assist with loading or moving materials and products.
Perform kitting for work cells in the designated area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
