About The Position

The Material Handler performs material handling and control operations for Shipping and Receiving. The role involves operating a company vehicle for local pickups and deliveries between the community and plant, generally within a five-mile radius, and moving, positioning, receiving, identifying, counting, verifying, and storing materials using manual or mechanized aids. The position also includes basic equipment checks, adherence to safety procedures, and reporting material or equipment problems to supervision.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Working knowledge of MRP systems.
Experience in warehouse processes.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
Ability to stand, twist, and bend up to 50% of the time.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Knowledge of Oracle is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform material handling and control operations for Shipping and Receiving.
Operate a company vehicle to pick up and deliver material between the local community and the plant, generally within a five-mile radius.
Use mechanized and manual material handling aids to transport and position material according to established methods and procedures.
Locate and identify items, and count or verify counts as necessary.
Stack items on pallets or load them into bins as required.
Receive incoming materials, such as compounds and wire, and store them for future use.
Transport, move, and handle material within the department as required.
Handle and stack items carefully to avoid injury and damage to supplies, products, or equipment.
Check fuel, lubrication, and coolant in equipment.
Detect and report defective material, faulty operation, and unusual conditions to supervision.
Follow prescribed safety regulations.
Assist with other projects as required.
